Staying warm in alpine scenarios can make all the difference, especially in extreme environments and emergency situations. Goldwin’s new, innovative Down Parka is the result of their heat-retention expertise developed over years of athlete testing and extreme use in winter mountain environments.
Goldwin started out in ski apparel development. With its solid core identity, the brand continued to evolve through countless field tests supported by world class skiers and mountain specialists, who developed relationships with the brand over the years. The “GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ DOWN PARKA” is the latest fruition of these collaborations – combining the best of practical skills and ongoing R&D to make better products.
GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ was originally launched in 2018. The material significantly improves the feel of outerwear due to its comfortable windproof, water-resistant and breathable characteristics. For insulation, Goldwin uses tried-and-tested KODENSHI down that combines the benefits of far infrared energy with high-loft down to generate warmth close to body temperature. And the soft feel unique to GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ laminated shell fabrics, provides comforting warmth even in snowstorms and extreme sub-zero environments. In addition, the lining is made of antistatic nylon that is processed for durability and water-repellency to further enhance comfort – even when worn over a wet shell that has been soaked by the snow. This provides significant added value in challenging winter conditions.
Goldwin’s detailed workmanship is clear to see throughout its long history in skiing and expertise in creating superior heat-retention. The Down Parka feature a “down tube” located inside the front double flaps and neck area to minimize cold spots as one of its key features. Moreover, the inner mesh pocket, zipper closure pocket, built-in handwarmer inside pockets and D-hook to attach gloves are all practical features with their origins in technical skiwear design. Its colors are inspired by Japan’s “four” seasons and the design bears Goldwin’s distinctive spur lines, symbolizing tracks in fresh snow and reflecting the brand’s origins in appreciating and valuing the natural world.
